Student Hub and Pop-Up Food Court
Murdoch University’s recently completed Student Hub project has delivered a flexible, adaptive community space where students can eat, socialise, refresh, engage and co-work. The $20.4million dollar redevelopment of a tired, inefficient refectory has transformed the student experience our Perth campus, placing student life at the centre of the cultural heart of our suburban campus.
Drawing together a number of diverse functions into one cohesive space, the Student Hub project has delivered a new Restaurant, fast food vendors, Student Guild spaces, student meeting rooms, large event and workshop space and a range of outdoor seating areas. The Student Hub project has improved connectivity of the University, creating new links through the physical built form to gardens and courtyards. The tour will also cover the Pop-Up Ref, our temporary food court that has been servicing staff and students through food trucks and sea container kitchens during the redevelopment.
This tour will be led by the University’s Property Portfolio Manager, Richard Kendall, and a representative from the project’s architect, James Edwards from Hames Sharley.
