Sustainability Focus

Sustainability is important to the committee of the Tertiary Education Management Conference, and this year we wanted to ensure that our conference reflected this.

We have taken extra care this year and are making some changes to ensure that we are not creating extra waste and instead maintaining an ecological balance by taking the following precautions –

• There will be no paper or plastic cups, cutlery or crockery. Even our baristas will use crockery supplied by Crown Perth to ensure that we are not adding to landfill.
• All food waste will be sent to the SMRC processing plant where they process the waste and all organic material is converted to soil improvers and compost.
• We will not be printing a pocket program this year – all details will be available on the TEMC App (details to be released soon).
• To avoid wastage as we strive to reduce our impact on the environment, this year the delegates will help themselves to promotional items from the self service packing bar.

We are excited to present an environmentally friendly conference for 2018 and the future and hope you will support this.
